WHO IS A TEACHER

Who is a teacher? According to Wikipedia (2016), A teacher (also called a school teacher) or educator is a person who provides education for students. The role of teacher is often formal and ongoing, carried out at a school or other place of formal education. In many countries, a person who wishes to become a teacher must first obtain specified professional qualifications or credentials from a university or college. The famous Robert Frost quote about teacher, “There are two kinds of teachers; the kind that fill you with so much quail shot that you can’t move, and the kind that just gives you a little prod behind and you jump to the skies”.
According to the National Education Philosophy in (1988), education in Malaysia is a continuous effort towards further expanded the potential of individuals in a holistic and integrated to create a balance and harmony in terms of intellectual, spiritual, emotional and physical based on belief and adherence to God. These efforts is to produce Malaysians knowledgeable, competent, moral, responsible and capable of achieving well-being and contribute to the harmony and prosperity of the society and the nation. In this context, one teacher is responsible for improving the performance of pupils in education and producing first class human capital. Therefore, teachers must diversify strategies and teaching methods during sessions teaching and learning. Learning will run smoothly, interesting and effective if teachers use a variety of methods appropriate to the content of education and skills that will be achieved by pupils.
            Some student cannot received or understand teachers mind. If student do not understand something, student should approach teacher. Method discussion a very good impact on the education development nowadays. This is so because this discussion methods, highlight the involvement of pupils between pupils and pupils between teachers. This method of discussion could stimulate the minds of students. Through this method, students will strive to provide ideas and views and participate actively in learning. In the other words, this method can change themselves pupils from passive to more active. The involvement of students actively in the learning process allows their minds grow.
To ensure discipline pupils always controlled, teachers should teach and learn in good environment. Teacher also should tell students to make discussion and try too not interfere with other students before directing students doing an activity. If students are still making noise, teachers need to act quickly to warn students that makes noise. The teachers is always older than the student, so teachers should be respected.

As a conclusion, teachers and students can work together best by both readiness in teaching and learning. In the face of globalization in the world of education, the teachers need to be prepared with knowledge and diversification of strategies and teaching methods to make the class more interesting atmosphere next to produce effective teaching and learning. Students-centered teaching strategies should be given priority during the conduct of teaching and learning so that students can be actively involved. Method discussion is very suitable carried out because this method involves all the students to give their views and ideas in turn to build social relationships among students.
